Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 was released a little over a month ago now and already the developers at Cold Iron Studios were hit by layoffs. An announcement was made late last week by Cold Iron Studios' parent company Enad Global 7.

Prior to last week, Cold Iron Studios employed roughly 60 employees. Roughly a third, or 19 employees, have now been laid off from the studio. Enad Global 7 called the layoffs a "staff reduction" and said that this was part of the "original plan" that was "intended to reduce the studio's operating cost base and secure a sustainable operation going forward."

Following the staff reduction, Cold Iron Studios will remain focused on the continued development and support of Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, including the Nintendo Switch 2 release that is now scheduled for early 2027.

Cold Iron Studios will continue to operate as part of Daybreak Game Company.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 released for PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, and PC on August 25. A Nintendo Switch 2 release is expected to come out tomorrow, September 29. The game currently sits at 64% average on OpenCritic and "Mixed" (61%) on Steam.
