CI Games took a bit of time out of the State of Unreal keynote at this year's GDC to show the audience how Lords of the Fallen makes use of Unreal Engine 5 technologies.

The team showed off a demo of the game that is currently still in development at Hexworks. The demo shows off an early area of the game called Skyrest Bridge. It's here that they showed off some features like the character customization options, which utilize a combination of 3D scans of real people with Unreal Engine 5's own technology. We also see how Lords of the Fallen make use of Unreal Engine 5's Lumen global illumination tech.

Hexworks also devised their own system that allows players to quickly travel between two worlds.

A video of the tech demo can be seen below along with some of the key features of the game. Lords of the Fallen is expected to be released later this year on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
