In early October, a fresh rumor started to circulate that Konami was reviving some of their key franchises. One of those franchises was none other than Metal Gear Solid. Part of that report suggested that Konami was working with a third-party development studio, Virtuos, on remasters in the Metal Gear Solid series. Specifically, it seems as though they were working on a remaster of Metal Gear Solid 3.

Well, now there is a bit more evidence that was spotted this weekend that may lend some more validity to these rumors.

Over the weekend, Twitter user Faizan Shaikh spotted references to a AAA remake in the LinkedIn profile of Virtuos lead programmer Zhiyang Li. Their profile says that they have been working on this unannounced AAA remake since at least 2018.

As noted in the tweet and the LinkedIn profile, this AAA remake is for an action-adventure title. It seems like it's a remake that is being built from scratch. It is also targeting 4K resolutions "on certain platforms."

They don't specify what they've worked on in the past on their website but they're pretty adamant about their AAA performance, also they've raised a lot of money and purchased other studios, which is impressive considering i've never heard of them.
I guess i'll just say good luck remaking one of the most beloved games of all time from the ground up.

I guess more and more studios like this are coming to light these days, even Crystal Dynamics is doing it, i guess it's one way to find work if there isn't a new project taking up everybody's time.
