A New Rumor Suggests Konami will Make a Big Reveal at Tokyo Game Show

It's that time again. Time to get your hopes up!

Last year, we were treated to a rumor by VGC that said Konami was working on remasters of the first Metal Gear Solid games, along with a reimagined Castlevania game, plus several new Silent Hill games from various development studios. Well, VGC is back again with another hot Konami rumor that may or may not pan out. Why report on these at all? Because if I have to suffer through this nonsense, then so do you.

    According to...

Virtuos Confirms They Are Working on AAA Remake

This is the studio rumored to be working on Metal Gear Solid 3 remake.

In early October, a fresh rumor started to circulate that Konami was reviving some of their key franchises. One of those franchises was none other than Metal Gear Solid. Part of that report suggested that Konami was working with a third-party development studio, Virtuos, on remasters in the Metal Gear Solid series. Specifically, it seems as though they were working on a remaster of Metal Gear Solid 3.

Death Stranding Director's Cut Announcement Has Major Metal Gear Vibes

Norman Reedus is still working out how to do the box thing.

Hideo Kojima made a special appearance on Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest Kickoff Live event today. I mean, is that really a surprise to anybody? During a brief interview with Keighley, Kojima briefly talked about how things were going in Japan (they have a State of Emergency), and his future projects (he didn't say much but referenced 9/11?). He also showed off a new trailer.

What is that trailer? Well, it's...

Something is Possibly Being Teased for Metal Gear Solid 2

Could be something or it could be nothing at all.

The official Metal Gear Twitter account perked up a bit today when it began responding to and retweeting another account from a fictional character on board Metal Gear Solid 2's Big Shell. The account in question, simply named @TheTomOlsen, acts as if he is a worker aboard the Big Shell, the large decontamination facility created where a majority of Metal Gear Solid 2 takes place.

The Tom Olsen account is posting a lot...

Konami Remembers That They Used to Make Video Games

They're probably just teasing more pachinko machines.

Recently, the former video game developer Konami updated their key visual on their recruitment page. The new art showcases some really iconic characters from some of Konami's biggest and best franchises over the past 50 years.

What jobs are they recruiting for? Beats me. I saw someone make the joke that they must be using this image to hire gravediggers and that gave me a sad chuckle. So let's just run with that....

Solid Snake Joke Goes Too Far During Tekken EVO Finals

    David Hayter is not pleased.

During this weekend's Tekken 7 grand finals at EVO, a short video was played showing Solid Snake talking to Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada. Snake belted out, as only Snake could, a line about playing some "good ass Tekken" before the fake feed was cut.

The video was not shown during the livestream, but it was captured by a number of people that were in attendance at the event itself. Initially, many people thought this was a teaser...

Espire 1: VR Operative Announced for PC VR Headsets and PlayStation VR

    It's virtually Metal Gear Solid.

Digital Lode and publisher Tripwire Interactive announced Espire 1: VR Operative this past week at E3 2019. The VR title utilizes new methods of moving in VR to nearly eliminate the feeling of motion sickness. Espire 1: VR Operative is a game that, at least on its surface, looks like a VR take on a certain tactical espionage action game. That is to say, it's a stealth action title.

The game is currently in development for VR devices on...

The Intro to Metal Gear Solid Looks Damn Good in Unreal Engine 4

A fan took the time to remake the intro to Metal Gear Solid using Unreal Engine 4. The video, seen below, was uploaded to the Warpgazer YouTube channel and is said to be made by Erasmus Brosdau.

The description says that everything was "real-time rendered" in engine and used a variety of Unreal marketplace assets. The intro is presented pretty much as you probably remember it, a few exceptions being some tweaks to sound effects and the start menu design.
