Today was a significant day for the virtual reality gaming community, thanks to the VR Games Showcase. This event, which aired earlier in the day, provided VR users with a glimpse of upcoming games set to be released on various VR platforms over the next few months and into 2027. Among the new reveals were announcements from Flat2VR Studios, which shared plans to bring several titles that previously launched as non-VR games into the VR space.
First up, Flat2VR Studios is teaming up with Squanch Games to release a port of High on Life for VR. This release is expected to drop in 2027 for PC VR, PlayStation VR 2, and Meta Quest. This VR adaptation will include some rather significant overhauls to core gameplay systems in order to make it work smoothly in VR. This includes changes to shop interactions, various story beats, and the addition of a physical reload feature for weapons.
System Shock VR was also announced today. This one is from Flat2VR and Nightdive Studios. This will be a VR port of the 2023 System Shock remake. Much like the High on Life VR release, this one is also coming to PC VR, PlayStation VR 2, and Meta Quest.
Total Chaos VR is the third major title announced by Flat2VR today. This time, the studio is teaming up with Trigger Happy Interactive for the VR port. Total Chaos VR will initially release on SteamVR, with a Meta Quest release planned for the future. The SteamVR release will be free to everyone who owns the non-VR version of Total Chaos.
