Square Enix finally announced and released the Final Fantasy VII Remake demo. Details and full playthrough videos from this fabled demo made their way online near the end of December 2019. Additional secrets were then quickly discovered within the demo's files just a few days later. Square Enix had not officially announced nor released this demo until early in the day on March 2, 2020. This demo is a PlayStation 4 exclusive and can be downloaded right now through the PlayStation Store.

Square Enix notes that this demo is available to PlayStation 4 owners "across the globe." They also note that should you download the demo prior to May 11, 2020, you will be able to get an exclusive PlayStation 4 theme when the full game launches on April 10, 2020.

This demo takes players through the opening sequence of the game. Namely, this demo includes iconic Mako Reactor 1 bombing mission. Anybody who has ever played the original release of Final Fantasy VII knows full well what this entails.

Final Fantasy VII Remake will be released on April 10, 2020 for the PlayStation 4. It is speculated that Final Fantasy VII Remake will come to other platforms, potentially the PC, after April 10, 2021. Perhaps today's demo will be the deciding factor as to whether or not you end up buying the game now or waiting for that possible PC release.

As always you can find the latest at the Final Fantasy VII Remake website.

In FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE, players will be drawn into a world where the Shinra Electric Power Company, a shadowy corporation, controls the planet’s very life force. Cloud Strife, a former member of Shinra’s elite SOLDIER unit now turned mercenary, lends his aid to an anti-Shinra organization calling themselves Avalanche. The first game in the project is set in the city of Midgar, and is a fully standalone gaming experience designed for RPG players that crave unforgettable characters, a powerful story and the ability to choose their style of play with a battle system that merges thrilling real-time action with strategic, command-based combat.
