Conan Chop Chop Goes from April Fools' Joke to Real Game

Funcom takes the violent world of Conan and makes it cute?

Funcom announced that Conan Chop Chop is actually a real game. It first appeared as something everyone thought was an April Fools' Day joke, but no, it's quite real. Conan Chop Chop is a cute looking new entry in the brutal and violent Conan the Barbarian game franchise. It's currently in development for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. It will be released on September 3, 2019.

Outriders is a New IP from the Bulletstorm Developers

Sounds like People Can Fly's most ambitious game yet.

People Can Fly, the studio behind games like Bulletstorm and the Painkiller franchise, just announced their latest action title this evening at Square Enix's E3 event. It's called Outriders and it's looking to be a sci-fi shooter featuring drop-in-drop-out co-op for 1 to 3 players.

It's currently in development for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC and is targeting a Summer 2020 release window. People Can Fly says that they have "over 200 developers at four international studios working on this project."...

Space Ops VR is Out Now

A new VR co-op shooter has entered the game.

Space Ops VR is out today from publisher Fibrum and developer Devcube Studio. The game, which is available normally for $14.99 enlists players into the Space Ops, an "elite cadre of first-responders tasked with protecting humanity in outer space." There is a launch sale price available, which knocks a hefty 25% off of the previously mentioned price.

This one is compatible with the Vive, Oculus, and Windows Mixed Reality headsets. I am going to assume that this includes all Oculus Rift branded headsets, and not necessarily...

Super Mario Maker 2 Doesn't Support Playing with Friends Online

    Nintendo doing Nintendo things again.

Some new details came out recently for Super Mario Maker 2 that has ruffled more than a few feathers. The earlier trailers for the game showed off what looked like cooperative gameplay as both Mario and Luigi made their way through a variety of custom made levels.

Naturally, fans had expected that you and a friend would be able to tackle these custom Mario levels together online. Or, at the very least, you and a friend would be able to go head-to-head in a competitive race. "Not so fast," says Nintendo! According to the...

Conan Unconquered to Launch Earlier than Expected

    The rare anti-delay announcement.

It's not often we get to put up a story about how a game is going to launch earlier than expected, but that is precisely what is happening with Conan Unconquered. Funcom and developer Petroglyph announced today that the upcoming strategy title set in the Conan the Barbarian universe will now launch on May 29.

The previously planned release day was May 30.

Alright, so it's not a HUGE bump, but it's still something to celebrate if you've been looking forward to this! As a little reminder, Conan Unconquered has some Command...

World War Z the Game Based on the Movie Based on the Book is Out Today

If you have a hunger for brains some co-op zombie shooting, you may be happy to hear that World War Z is out today. This four-player co-op title will probably invoke some feelings of deja vu as you take on a ton of undead swarms as you make your way through each level. What I'm trying to say is that fans of Left 4 Dead will probably want to check this one out.

The game is, of course, inspired by the movie of the same name, which is inspired by the book of the same name. World War Z retails for $39.99 (USD) on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. it is also available for the PC exclusively...

  • Steambirds Alliance Announced - Free-to-Play Co-op Bullet Hell Game for up to 60 Players

Steambirds Alliance is a new, and unusual, title in development from Spryfox. The game sounds like very little else out there in the fact that it will be free-to-play, support up to 60 players in a game, and it's a co-op focused bullet-hell shooter. Like, you'll usually get games that have maybe one or two of those elements thrown together, but not all of them. They're also saying it's got some MMORPG elements included along with a heavy dose of customization.

The overall theme of the game is a battle between birds and cats. You and up to 60 other players try to take down...

Turtle Rock is Making a New Zombie Filled Co-op FPS Game

Turtle Rock Studios, the development studio that created Left 4 Dead and who eventually brought us Left 4 Dead 2 and Evolve (but let's not talk about that one) is working on a new co-op FPS. And just like Left 4 Dead, this new title will also include plenty of zombies.

The game is called Back 4 Blood (I see what they did there) and it will be published by WBIE. It's a bit early to say how this one will turn out since a lot of the old Turtle Rock kind of merged with Valve for a while there. We'll obviously be keeping our eyes on this one though.

    Turtle Rock has...

Assault Android Cactus Hits Nintendo Switch March 8

The colorful twin-stick shooter, Assault Android Cactus, is hitting the Nintendo Switch on March 8. You may recall seeing our review for it when it originally released on the PS4 in 2016 where we found it to be a largely enjoyable game. It also came out for PC in 2015 and Xbox One in 2017.

The Switch release will include Campaign+, which reimagines the original 25 stages with new enemy waves, dynamic transformations, and "more intense boss fights that provide a tough twist for even the most seasoned Cactus veterans." The team says that the Switch release still runs...

Crackdown 3 on PC Locked to 30FPS in Co-op

If you plan on playing through Crackdown 3 in co-op, it may be worth knowing that the game will be locked to 30FPS. Yes, even on PC.

To be fair to the Xbox One versions of the game, it's capped at 30FPS as it is, even when playing alone. However, the PC version has the ability to play with much higher framerates, including uncapped if you so desire. That is, unless you're playing co-op on the PC.

A number of Reddit users have found out that the 30FPS cap comes into play whether or not you are playing PC to PC or PC to Xbox.

    It should also be noted...
