First, it may come as a shock to you to hear that Battleborn was still being actively developed for until this past week. Secondly, it may come as a shock to maybe one or two of you out there to hear that the development of your favorite game has come to an end.The news was delivered by a Randy from Gearbox. No, not that one. I'm talking about Randy Varnell, the Creative Director of Battleborn. He says that the bulk of the team will move on to a different, unannounced project at Gearbox. I'm going to make a wild assumption and say that project rhymes with "Morderlands Tree."
For what it's worth, I honestly enjoyed my time spent playing Battleborn on the PC. Then after just a few short weeks post-release, the already small community went away to nearly nothing on the PC and that was that.
Sad to see Battleborn go on life support with a skeletal support team. Not enough people saw how different Battleborn was, compared to Overwatch. Then again, maybe Overwatch and PUBG scratched enough itches that nobody wanted to play any other multiplayer shooters regardless of genre. Even TF2 is slightly waning. Mostly slightly though.
