Microsoft and Mojang revealed some interesting updates coming to Minecraft later this year. The big ones are the fact that it's getting a 4K update for the Xbox One X. It will also have an updated texture pack.

Perhaps the biggest news here is that they will have servers and allow crossplay between devices starting this Summer. Yep, players will be able to play together regardless of platform. They say that you and your friends will be able to play if you are on mobile, Windows 10, VR, "and console." The "and console" isn't really specific as to which console(s) they're talking about. If nothing, the Switch seems to be included since it was actually shown off in the reveal trailer for this. I would assume that the PlayStation 4 is also included but who knows anymore. EDIT: Oh, nevermind. Sony refused to have crossplay with Xbox.
Mojang and Microsoft announced a new version of "Minecraft" that will bring the complete "Minecraft" experience to everyone on gaming consoles, mobile, VR and Windows 10 PCs this summer. The unification of "Minecraft" across platforms will transform the "Minecraft" experience everywhere from a game to a platform, providing simple access to massive community servers, community creations from the Minecraft Marketplace, Realms, dedicated servers and more. The team also announced the Super Duper Graphics Pack, a new optional upgrade for in-game visuals in stunning true 4K HDR.

Anyway, here's Minecraft in 4K, because a game that uses blocks with texture resolutions measuring 16x16 really needs 4K.
