Remedy Entertainment will release the first major content update for Alan Wake 2 on Monday, December 11th. This update is called "The Final Draft" and it will include, among other things, the highly anticipated addition of New Game+.

The Final Draft will include a new ending, though just how different that ending will be compared to the first playthrough is anybody's guess at this point. Remedy does say that this new ending will be "sure to spark speculation and theories among our dedicated fans." As if the fans aren't already doing that with the first ending!

There will also be some new lore to discover during your play through of New Game+ that comes in the form of a few new videos and manuscript pages that were added. There will also be "other subtle additions."

Players will retain all weapons, Charms and character upgrades earned during their first playthrough. They should come in handy when you seek the ultimate challenge of trying out the new Nightmare Difficulty level. Brace yourselves for intensified enemies, strategic gameplay, and an adrenaline-pumping experience that will push your skills to the limit.

Note: You will find your unlocked weapons in the first available shoebox for the character. This means that you don’t start New Game Plus with the weapons already in your inventory.
Remedy does also say that there will be numerous bug fixes and some slight performance optimizations made when this update releases on December 11 at 10AM (PT). They also say that you will need to have completed the game before you can access New Game+, but that seems like a given.
