This should probably not come as any surprise.
As part of Blizzard's third-quarter earning's call, the company revealed that both Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4 will not be released until 2023 at the earliest. These two titles were kind of scheduled back in February to maybe be released as early as 2022, but those plans have clearly changed.
Activision Blizzard shared the delay in a slide entitled "Update on Our Pipeline." The company says that while it plans to "deliver a substantial amount of content" in 2022, they are now "planning for a later launch for Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4 than originally envisaged." The slide says that "it has become apparent that some of the Blizzard content planned for next year will benefit from more development time to reach its full potential."
Blizzard says that these are "two of the most eagerly anticipated titles in the industry" and that their "teams have made great strides towards completion in recent quarters."

All OW2 multiplayer will be free and integrated into OW1. It's a shared multiplayer. If you don't even care about the OW2 campaign stuff, you still get the multiplayer content if you already own OW1. Multiplayer changes include changes to character designs, tweaked abilities, and there's going to be one less person per team (will be 5v5 instead of 6v6).
