Deathmatch Coming to Overwatch

The latest developer update video from Blizzard's Jeff Kaplan reveals that Deathmatch is coming as a new mode for Overwatch. The mode and additional changes are available right now on the PTR.

Blizzard announced Overwatch 2 today at BlizzCon. This sequel adds in a few PvE focused modes as well as the same multiplayer you are probably already well aware of.

Jeff Kaplan is No Longer Leading Overwatch at Blizzard

Kaplan has left the building.

The long standing game director for Overwatch, Jeff Kaplan, has parted ways with Blizzard after several years of employment with the studio. Kaplan was an employee at Blizzard for over 19 years.
