Square Enix delivered on their promise to release a "fixed" version of Chapter 13 in Final Fantasy XV. Many fans who played it thought that Chapter 13 was, well, kind of terrible and it seems as though Square Enix agreed.

This week's update for the game changes up Chapter 13, hopefully for the better. This update also goes hand-in-hand with the game's first character DLC, Episode Gladiolus.
The episode features:
• A new story told from Gladiolus’ perspective uncovering the events that transpired when the character left the party in Final Fantasy XV’s main storyline
• An exhilarating combat system that capitalizes on Gladiolus’ blocking and counterattacking play style through the new “Valor” and “Rage” system
• Previously inaccessible parts of Eos that are now open for exploration
• Special items that can be carried over the main game and exclusive to those who complete Episode Gladiolus
• Two brand-new gameplay modes, “Score Attack” and “Final Trial” made available upon completing Episode Gladiolus

Now, Episode Gladiolus is a piece of paid DLC content. The update that makes Chapter 13 better is free. For those that still want to experience what Chapter 13 was like before the update, you are free to do so. Square Enix left that option there for you.
