Valve notified the SteamVR Steam Community that HTC Vive Pre is now shipping to various game developers around the world.
The HTC Vive Pre is now making its way to developers’ studios around the world. If you’ve been working with us to build content using the first version of our dev kit, check your inbox for the key and instructions you’ll use to upgrade that old kit to a new Vive PRE.

Then, while you’re furiously checking your email for shipping confirmation patiently waiting for its arrival, check out BrandonJLa’s Hover Junkers space requirements video for tips on how to make room for that old kit at home in even the tiniest of spaces. And check out our new Developer support site for all things PRE, including the new Vive PRE installation guide.

I see even VALVe noticed StressLevelZero's explanation on the misconception of how much space is required for some apps/games to work with the Vive (some, not all). The real question is how well the lighthouses can read you based on your awkwardly shaped small room full of obstacles (I know you put them high up, but not all rooms are square/rectangles), and how soon you and the people around you will get used to the cord flailing around on the ground. Just because the player isn't tripping on it, doesn't mean your family won't, when they walk in without knocking.

I'm looking forward to more StressLevelZero and Node videos when the Vive Pre arrives. Brandon, Alex, D, Sam, and Niko are going to have a lot of fun with this. Wouldn't mind hearing their thoughts on how significant the improvements are. To be honest, I thought they have the Pre already as an early dev adopter, but apparently what I've been seeing was the previous model?
