The 700 Club tackled a viewer question. A parent found "demonic images" on her daughter's phone and is concerned. She asks the 700 Club how they can help their daughter "not be attracted to such demonic things."The "demonic images" were of a skeleton from the popular game Undertale. Undertale is a unique RPG that rewards pacifism and punishes those who find violent solutions. But hey, it's the 700 Club so...
... Undertale? Really? Undertale? As in the game with game mechanics that make you question why you fight? The game that feels like Earthbound, but freaking obliterates the RPG foundations of turn-based combat? The game that makes you realize it's self-aware of its genre and chooses to give you options not to follow how you would follow a traditional RPG? As in the game that... Well you said it. Rewards pacifism over violence. As in the game that's VERY DIFFICULT to complete if you choose to be violent? As in the game that tracks who you killed because they are living beings that aren't really monsters? As in the game that has you fight your guardian because you THINK you're asked to? They're seriously talking about Undertale, and the demonic skeleton... Who is a comedian and wishes no harm on anybody? Least I think it's Sans.
*Watches video.*
Oh my God, we don't even get to see the picture because it was never sent to them. Their discussion is literally purely based off of the question sent to them, so there's no way anyone would be able to do any research on a game that can clearly be rated E for Everyone. Also, I can guarantee this game does not have any guns to go "boom boom boom." Because you know, I've actually experienced the game instead of assume it's THE typical game kids love to play. Yeah I know, it's a time-waster to look at what the conversation is about, so just answer the question based on what you think video games tend to be. Good enough, that'll work. I'm an expert wearing a suit with a larger salary than you kids, so suck it.
To be fair, I assume he's a general expert on everything, so he probably comments on other non-video game related topics and explains how common sense works. Like I do agree with him suggesting to ACTUALLY BE A PARENT to the child, and offer wholesome things. Honestly, I have nothing against good books, movies, and games appropriately rated for that child. SUCH AS UNDERTALE!
