On October 20, the fifth and final episode for Life is Strange will be released by Square Enix and Dontnod Entertainment. Dontnod's Luc shared the good news todayWe don’t normally announce a date until we know the game is 100% ready but in the spirit of Max’s birthday (today) we wanted to let you know early that we are aiming to release Episode 5 ‘Polarized’ October 20.
Many things can change in the lead up to release but the team are working really hard to try and hit this date. We know the wait may be a bit longer than some of you were hoping for but we want to ensure Episode 5 is the best it can be.
Your tweets, comments and messages have kept us going through this busy stage of development and we can’t thank you enough for your continued support.

But for crap's sakes I am hoping Dontnod Entertainment does not boost Max's powers to end the storm in some God-like fashion. I swear if she jumps in the middle of the storm and fixes everything, I will never trust Dontnod Entertainment to be able to write a satisfying story beyond the first-half. The later half was already... Erm... Indigo Prophecy/Fahrenheit levels of unnecessary as it is. Maybe even heading towards Beyond Two Souls unnecessary (though that game was ridiculous from the get-go unlike Indigo Prophecy and Life is Strange).
Anyways, I'm expecting an early to mid November release. Their premature announcement (though well-meaning and celebrating the protagonist's birthday) tells me it's nothing more than an internal deadline that is flexible to change. I'm guessing they'll realize they need the final two weeks of October to take out any complicated showstopper bugs, and lock down how the ending cinematic should play out. So I predict a delay.
