We all saw the signs. We all knew this was coming from a mile away. However, both Guillermo del Toro and Norman Reedus both said today that Silent Hills is currently dead. It's not going to happen, at least not how we had all hoped it would.

Matt Hackney passed along word from Guillermo del Toro earlier today.

This was later followed up by a comment from Norman Reedus.

Del Toro said that he was really only interested in working with Kojima on the project. He said that whether or not Silent Hills is fully cancelled and will never ever see the light of day in any capacity is something that we would have to contact Konami about. So far, Konami hasn't exactly been up front with the public about many matters, especially these past few months, so it could be some time before we get an official statement.

The other day, Kojima won three awards at the latest Famitsu event (two for Metal Gear, one for P.T.). Nobody from either Konami nor Kojima Productions were there to accept the awards. In previous years, Kojima himself always had a presence.

... Thanks Konami. Thanks a lot.
