Overkill Software, the studio behind the popular Payday series, has revealed that they are working on a new game for The Walking Dead. Slated for release in 2016, Overkill's The Walking Dead will be a first-person co-op shooter with survival horror, stealth, and RPG elements.

That is to say, it will be like Payday but in The Walking Dead. Which is probably a bit like Overkill's take on Left 4 Dead given the similarities between Payday and Left 4 Dead already.


Fans are a bit upset and what they claim is a "bait and switch" as many believed that this big build up was for new Payday 2 content or maybe a new Payday game. It probably didn't help that Overkill went about advertising this over their Payday 2 page on Steam.

However, Overkill is adding Negan's Lucille bat as a melee weapon to Payday 2. See? Everything worked out, you got a bat!
