  • Silent Hill Remake Announced by Bloober Team and Konami

    Well, they did a damn good job with the Silent Hill 2 remake.

    A rather quiet surprise announcement was made today by Bloober Team and Konami. The two studios are once again teaming up for another remake, this time it's for the original Silent Hill.

    The announcement came during Konami's latest Press Start broadcast. All that was shown was a 30-second long announcement video that included the title, the studios involved, and a note that it was in development. The video included a portion of the iconic Silent Hill song by Akira Yamaoka that is aptly named Silent Hill.

    Besides this brief announcement, no other information was provided. We don't know how far along the game is, release dates, platforms, or anything else.


    This will be the second major project that Bloober has worked on with Konami, with the first being the Silent Hill 2 remake from 2024. The Silent Hill 2 remake came away with an impressive average score of 84% from critics. The quality of the Silent Hill 2 remake shocked a lot of Bloober naysayers, including myself. Hopes are now high that Bloober can once again capture lightning in a bottle.

        This has me excited. After calling them Pooper Team because of the Medium, Blair Witch, etc., Silent Hill 2 was expertly crafted. As someone who's played the janky original through to all its endings, this should be excellent. I hope.

        Whether we wanted it to or not, a remake of Silent Hill 2 is coming from Bloober Team. The studio known for games like Layers of Fear, The Medium, and Observer have been working on this Silent Hill 2 remake for quite some time now.         In my restless dreams, I see that town.

        Last week, several images that reportedly came from a new Silent Hill project leaked online. The initial leak was struck by a copyright claim from Konami and were promptly removed, which just meant that the leak was probably quite legitimate.

        This week, a new report from VGC says that Konami has not one but several new Silent Hill projects in active development at multiple studios.

        Here we go again.

        Time and time again we see a new rumor surface that Konami is working on a new Silent Hill game. It's a rumor that, like many rumors about old and beloved franchises, just doesn't want to ever die. So let's just get on with it.

        The latest rumor comes from Rely On Horror (site is getting hammered as of this posting). They say that at least two different sources have told them that not only is Silent Hill coming back, but it's coming back thanks to Sony....

        Silent Hill f Sells Over 1 Million Copies in First 24 Hours

        The Silent Hill thirst is real.

        The first original Silent Hill release in years seems to be a bit of a hit with Konami announcing that 1 million copies of the game were sold in the first 24 hours of the game's official release date. Ignoring the two days of advanced-access for Deluxe owners, Silent Hill f officially came out on September 25th for PlayStation 5. By September 26th, the one million sold milestone was reached.
