Activision shared the final PC system requirements for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Expected to release on October 23, the PC release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 looks to be playable across a wide range of hardware configurations.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is an upcoming first-person shooter developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision. This upcoming title serves as a continuation of the rebooted Modern Warfare series, featuring a campaign that plunges Task Force 141 into another high-stakes geopolitical battle and a large-scale conflict on the Korean Peninsula. Modern Warfare 4 is coming out only on current-generation platforms, including PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.

There are some special improvements made to the PC version of the game. For example, Modern Warfare 4 will make use of the Advanced Shader Delivery system that will deliver pre-compiled shaders. This will minimize the time needed to pre-compile shaders when first launching a game. Activision says that players will need the XBOX PC app installed in order to utilize this feature. However, they also say players should "download and install the XBOX PC app ahead of time no matter what your PC platform, so ASD can deliver your precompile shaders at game install and throughout live updates."

This does seem to suggest that the Advanced Shader Delivery system will work even if the game is purchased through Steam. It obviously remains to be seen if this will actually be the case or not.

The PC release also supports 4K resolutions, ultrawide, the latest upscaling tech from Nvidia, Intel, and AMD, plus a built-in benchmarking tool.
