Season of the Wish is out now for Destiny 2. This new season will run up through to the launch of Destiny 2's new upcoming expansion, The Final Shape. As we just learned, The Final Shape will now be released on June 4, 2024. This means that Season of the Wish will run for a few months longer than most seasons.
Hopefully the season includes fun activities that you need to play to keep everyone entertained and not something like Blind Well again!
In Season of the Wish Queen Mara Sov hopes to use an Ahamkara egg to make a bargain with the wish dragon, Riven. It is hoped that this would lead to the Traveler confronting the Witness. The new season includes new story missions, the new Riven's Lair activity, the new Fireteam Finder feature (coming November 30th), the return of The Citadel PvP map, a new dungeon (coming December 1st), and more.
Given the extended nature of this season, Bungie will offer some additional content to fill the void before The Final Shape. There will be a two month content update coming called Into the Light, which will be free to everyone that owns the game.
This Season of the Wish also adds in new collaboration armor that you can purchase for real world money. The armor is based off of The Witcher franchise thanks to a Bungie collab with CD Projekt Red.

On November 30, Bungie will begin the first step in the beta test of the highly anticipated Fireteam Finder feature. Once the feature is fully released, players will be able to easily find other Guardians to play group-based content with, such as raids, dungeons, Seasonal activities, Crucible matches, strikes, and more. On December 1 at 9 AM PT, Warlord's Ruin, the second dungeon in the year of Lightfall, will be released for players to discover. For those up for the challenge, the dungeon will be available to owners of Lightfall + Annual Pass or the Lightfall Dungeon Key.
Participate in Winter Festivities
On December 12, The Dawning celebration will return! Eva Levante will task Guardians to bake delicious treats to hand out to the Vanguard and other beloved characters for cozy winter celebrations. Starting in February, players can also look forward to this year’s Moments of Triumph, where Guardians can celebrate the past year of Destiny 2 through challenges and Triumphs to earn rewards. The Guardian Games event will then return in March for players to compete in intense class vs. class battles.​
