Google Stadia Launch Games are Lacking

Stadia comes out of the gate already limping.

With the soft launch of Google Stadia rapidly approaching, it seems like we're beyond due for a look at the platform's launch lineup. Hell, we're probably beyond due for a look at the Stadia UI and full featureset, but that is another matter entirely.

Today, Google revealed a list of 12 games that will serve as the launch titles for when Stadia has a soft launch on November 19. For $130, you were able to get in on the ground floor of the launch of Stadia with the Founder's Edition. These kits have...

Destiny 2 Taken Offline for Emergency Maintenance

    Server's haunted.

Bungie has taken down both Destiny and Destiny 2 for "emergency maintenance." This announcement was made via Twitter just a short time ago.

There is no real word on what the issue currently is, but prior to this maintenance, they said that they were looking into problems that were preventing players from logging in.

This is kind of thing was pretty much expected today though. First off, Destiny 2: Shadowkeep was released. Secondly, today also saw the release of Destiny 2: New Light, the free-to-play release...

    Destiny 2: Shadowkeep Launch Trailer

The next chapter of Destiny is about to begin.

This launch trailer for Shadowkeep will provide you with a general basis for the story coming in the latest expansion. Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is almost here.

In Shadowkeep, you and your fellow Guardians will return to the Moon. In addition, you will run into some familiar faces, some alive and some maybe not so alive. Destiny 2: Shadowkeep will be released on October 1, 2019. Along with this, the game will make the move to Steam for PC players, and will also include a free-to-play release in the form...

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep ViDoc - The Moon and Beyond

A whole lot more Destiny is coming and it all starts with the Moon.

On October 1, 2019 the Shadowkeep expansion for Destiny 2 will be released. On that same date, the game effectively takes on a whole new life. It will be gone from Battle.net and will now instead be played through Steam. It also marks the first major piece of content released for Destiny 2 since their separation from Activision.

On October 1, Destiny 2 will have a free-to-play version released on every platform. It'll be called Destiny: New Light and it will give new players...

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep Delayed Until October 1, Cross-Save Arrives in August

It's only about a two week delay.

Bungie passed along some unfortunate news today. Both Destiny 2: Shadowkeep and the free-to-play launch of Destiny 2: New Light have been pushed back until October 1. The original release date for both of these was September 17, meaning that the delay is a mere two weeks. Yes, this also means that the Steam release of Destiny 2 has also been pushed back to October 1.

Bungie says that they "didn't make this decision lightly." In fact, they apologize to those who were already taking time off from work...

Bungie Details Big Changes Coming to Eververse in Destiny 2: Shadowkeep

There are some good changes in store, Guardian.

When Destiny 2: Shadowkeep launches this Fall, Bungie is going to have made a ton of changes to some core mechanics in their space opera shooter. Among those changes will be a fairly drastic overhaul to Eververse and some of the currencies associated with that in-game store.

Eververse has been a small point of contention for Destiny fans ever since the first Destiny title. It is an in-game store that sells various items for currency that you can earn by playing the game or for another currency type...

Yes, they actually said the big "M" word publicly when talking about Destiny 2! That's a huge deal! Today's livestream not only confirmed today's earlier leaks, but announced so much more. Let's just dig right into it all.

  • Google Stadia Pricing Leaks - Offering Subscription and Individual Purchase Options

I need an umbrella for all these leaks!

The Google Stadia Connect that is set to begin roughly right as this post goes live, will share the first details about the pricing structure for the upcoming streaming platform. As it turns out, that information was leaked earlier this morning. The information was reported on by Kotaku but originally shared by Canadian news outlet, La Presse.

Stadia will include both a subscription model and offer up games for sale individually. The Stadia launches this November and includes a base subscription starting...

Report: Destiny 2 Going Free-to-play and Coming to Steam

This is assuming the rumors are true...

It looks like Destiny 2 will be making some significant changes in the months ahead. According to an early leak, or a rumor, or whatever you want to call it, Destiny 2 is making the move to free-to-play. Engadget apparently put their article up well ahead of schedule this morning that details the coming changes.

The article, since pulled from public sight, was read and given a nice "CliffsNotes version" over on the Destiny subreddit.

In short, Destiny 2 will be going F2P on all platforms....

Destiny 2 'Season of Opulence' Details Revealed

It sounds good on paper at least.

Bungie released some of the first details today for the upcoming Season of Opulence content for Destiny 2: Forsaken. As you expect, there's a bunch of new gear to earn, new activities to do, a new raid to... raid, and even a new 6-player activity called The Menagerie.

The Season of Opulence is the third and presumably final piece of content slated to be released as part of the second annual season pass. Will there be a third one? Or will the next release just be Destiny 3? Only Bungie knows. There are some additional...

Bungie Brings Back the Nerf Gun on Fan-Favorite Destiny 2 Weapons

    Old Bungie is back.

Around the release of the Curse of Osiris update for Destiny 2, Bungie had vowed to take a drastically different approach to how they handle community favored weapons in the game. Old Bungie would have nerfed those weapons into the ground without a second thought.

But new Bungie? New Bungie said that they wanted to instead buff up other weapons to make them more attractive choices. This was a part of their "Go Fast Update" initiative. Specifically, here is what they said in all capital letters for some weird reason...

Destiny 2 'Season of the Drifter' Update 2.2.0 Changelog

    We all drift down here.

That's right, Destiny 2's "Season of the Drifter" is out today and that means a new update for the game has come out. Today, Bungie released the 2.2.0 update that contains all sorts of changes and additions and probably nerfs to your favorite class that used to be able to skate around at mach speeds but can no longer do so because "screw you, Zips!"

    What was I saying?

Oh right, Season of the Drifter is the latest content release for Destiny 2. Let's just look at the changelog before I forget what I was doing again. ...

Sales Figures for Anthem are Half Those of Andromeda in UK

As far as physical retail sales go, Anthem was the best selling game in the UK in its first week of release.

That's the extent of the good news.

The bad news is that it sold roughly half of the total number of units BioWare's previous title sold in its first week. That's right, Mass "My Face is Tired" Effect Andromeda outsold BioWare's latest and, er, let's just leave it at "latest."

Digital sales for these titles are not included in these sales figures. Meaning that the number of units sold on services...

    2018 Games of the Year

A week or two ago I took you through some of the games I felt were the worst video games in 2018. There were a variety of reasons included for why those games made that list, ranging from the games just being broken to the games just being boring.

Today, we're going in the opposite direction. Today, we are going to look at some of the best games of 2018. The list, with one exception is in no real particular order. I will try to keep it brief since this is probably already a month out of date by the time this goes live. I only include games that I played...

Bungie Teases the Return of the Best Hand Cannon in Destiny

Just moments ago, the Destiny Twitter account sent out a new teaser video for tomorrow's big Destiny 2 update. Over the past few weeks, Bungie has been giving little bits of information here and there on what is coming in tomorrow's 2.1.4 update. This includes last week's "This Week at Bungie."

This update doesn't yet have a full changelog available with all of the changes, but some of the highlights include a buff for the Hunter's Golden Gun, buffs to damage on scout rifles, auto rifles, and sniper rifles. This is all very vague and just...
