CD Projekt Red showed off a wealth of new footage for the upcoming Update 2.0 for Cyberpunk 2077. The update will be free to everyone that owns Cyberpunk 2077 and will ship near to the release of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty.
Now, while this update will be free, Phantom Liberty will not be free. On top of that, not everything shown off in Update 2.0 will be accessible to those without ownership of the Phantom Liberty expansion.
For instance, the upcoming new Relic skill tree will be only for those that own Phantom Liberty. This new skill tree offers a way to bolster the power and abilities. These can lead to new playstyles and different build types. Phantom Liberty also adds in the new Dogtown locations, dynamic events and missions, new gigs, new clothing options, new weapons, new cyberware, and new story content.
A redesigned perks system will add in new perks. There will be an overhaul to enemy AI in combat encounters. The police AI has also been vastly improved and will now make use of roadblocks, vehicle ramming, and more. Plus they don't just magically spawn in anymore but appear from a dropship sort of air vehicle. Players will now also be able to engage in vehicle to vehicle combat. You will also be able to quickhack enemy vehicles while while in your own car or on a motorbike.
All of the above paragraph will be freely released as part of Update 2.0.
For the new Relic skill tree, new location, and everything else, you'll have to buy Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. It will be released on September 26 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
