WB Games and DC showed the first official gameplay footage of Nightwing and Red Hood in action in Gotham Knights. This is the upcoming open-world, third-person action-RPG co-op title in development by Warner Bros. Games Montreal.
Today's fresh look is narrated by game director Geoff Ellenor. We see some of the moves and special abilities of Nightwing and Red Hood as they fight crime in Gotham City. We also get a little bit of a look at their investigation efforts into the mysterious Court of Owls.
Nightwing utilizes more acrobatics in his combat approach. He also makes use of an aerial glider for increased mobility. On the flip side is Red Hood and his use of two firearms. Instead of using a glider, Red Hood can leap significant distances around the field of battle.
Gotham Knights is set to be out on October 25, 2022 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. There will not be any PlayStation 4 or Xbox One releases for this title.
Pre-orders for the game are available through digital storefronts such as PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. The Standard Edition starts at $59.99 (USD) on PC or $69.99 on consoles. There is a Gotham Knights Deluxe Edition that retails for $79.99 on PC or $89.99 on consoles that includes the base game and Visionary Pack DLC. This pack includes exclusive gear, cosmetics, Beyond Suitstyle character skins inspired by the Batman Beyond animated series, and more.
For you who prefer to spend more money, the $299.99 Gotham Knights Collector's Edition is also up for pre-order. It includes all content in the Deluxe Edition, plus augmented reality collectable ping, 16-page media book, exclusive Gotham City map, four-character statue diorama, and more.
All pre-orders get the 233 Kustom Batcycle Skin at launch, which is "based on the vehicle's first appearance in DC's Detective Comics #233."
