After its disastrous early access release, it's probably for the best.

Konami has officially delayed the official launch of eFootball until at least Spring 2022. Back in July, Konami announced that they were turning their Pro Evolution Soccer series into a free-to-play and ever evolving soccer title that they were calling eFootball. Unfortunately for them and for fans, the early access release of eFootball was terrible, and that's putting it mildly.

The initial launch featured a severely limited number of teams and modes, and included what some might consider to be all the bugs. Due to this rocky initial launch, Konami has decided to delay the eFootball 1.0.0 launch until Spring 2022. That version was initially slated to release on November 11, 2021.

The mobile version of the game has also been pushed until Spring 2022. The delay will net eager players a premium player pack. These packs unlock new players via a "chance deal" system. It's RNG at best and gambling at worst.

Konami's official statement says that the team needs to add some more polish. They hope to offer a product that will "meet the expectations of our users."

We have been working diligently towards distributing an update that will bring new content to the game, including a new mode where you can strengthen and play with an original team, as well as support for mobile devices on November 11, 2021.

Unfortunately, we have concluded that more time is needed to deliver the product in the quality that will meet the expectations of our users and have decided to postpone the delivery.

Also, we have decided to cancel the pre-order for eFootballâ„¢ 2022 Premium Player Pack, which includes items that can only be used in-game after the update.

We will release v0.9.1 to fix numerous bugs sequentially on each platform starting today (November 5). We will continue to improve and update our game.
