New FieldSENSE System Announced for Madden NFL 23, But Not for PC

They promise that this system will deliver "ultra-realistic gameplay" in Madden NFL 23.

Yesterday, Electronic Arts unveiled the three John Madden themed covers for Madden NFL 23. Today, the studio just announced one of the new features coming when Madden NFL 23 launches on August 23: FieldSENSE Gameplay System.

EA says that FieldSENSE will serve as a "new foundation for consistent, ultra-realistic gameplay" that will, you guessed it, only be available...

John Madden to Once Again Appear on Cover of New Madden NFL Game

John Madden once again appears on the cover of the series that bears his name.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame head coach of the Raiders and super well known NFL color commentator, John Madden, will once again return to appear on the cover of a Madden NFL game. With Madden NFL 23, the late John Madden will appear on the cover in a design that harkens back to the look of the first John Madden Football, which came out on June 1, 1988.

Howev er, there will be not one, but three...

EA Announces EA Sports FC to Replace FIFA Games

Who needs FIFA? Not EA apparently.

It's no surprise that EA and FIFA haven't seen eye to eye over these past several months. FIFA wanted to charge EA a cool $1 billion (USD) every four years to continue using the FIFA license. EA balked at the idea, citing the cost and creative restrictions as the reason, and decided to part ways from FIFA going forward.

Today, EA officially announced that after the release of FIFA 23, the studio will officially change the name of their...

Madden NFL 22 Predicts Super Bowl LVI Winner

But can it predict which commercials will suck?

According to my calculations, Super Bowl LVI will take place this weekend between the Cincinnati Bengals and the LA Rams. As has become tradition, EA Sports simulated the Super Bowl between the two competing teams and they have determined which of the two is likely to win.

The final score, according to Madden NFL 22's simulation, was 24-21 in favor of the Bengals. This would be Cincinnati's first Super Bowl win ever, assuming...

Konami Delays Full eFootball Launch Until Spring 2022

After its disastrous early access release, it's probably for the best.

Konami has officially delayed the official launch of eFootball until at least Spring 2022. Back in July, Konami announced that they were turning their Pro Evolution Soccer series into a free-to-play and ever evolving soccer title that they were calling eFootball. Unfortunately for them and for fans, the early access release of eFootball was terrible, and that's putting it mildly.

    The initial launch...

EA Removing Coach Jon Gruden from Madden NFL 22

He will be replaced by a generic placeholder.

EA announced that they will be removing the former Las Vegas Raiders head coach Jon Gruden from Madden NFL 22. This is being done following Gruden's resignation after it was recently revealed by the New York Times that he made several racist, homophobic, and misogynistic remarks across multiple emails over the past 12 years.

News about Gruden's removal from Madden was made through the game's official Twitter account yesterday....

FIFA Wants to Charge EA $1 Billion Every Four Years for License

This might give us a reason why EA is considering changing the name.

Recently, EA revealed that they have been considering ditching the "FIFA" name from its annual soccer video game franchise. There were some definite questions raised as to why EA would even consider doing such a thing since FIFA is a hugely recognizable name.

Today, some light has been shed that could provide a good reason why EA was considering this move. According to a new report from the...

    FIFA 22 is Now Available

In case you wanted a soccer game that isn't super broken in 2021.

EA Sports FIFA 22 is now available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Stadia, Steam, and Origin. Just as is the case with this year's Madden NFL 22 release, FIFA 22 only features a bunch of next-gen exclusive features not available on the previous generation of consoles nor the PC releases.

Even with that said, this is still probably the better of the two soccer games that came...

There's a Free Trial Available for Madden NFL 22

    Well, this is highly unusual.

EA says that they are celebrating the start of the 2021 NFL Season by offering up a "global Free-to-Play trial" for Madden NFL 22. This free trial will run from September 9 through September 12 on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC via Steam, and Google Stadia. Strangely, this press release does not seem to suggest that the trial is available through Origin. Weird one that is.

    Anyway, this trial will allow...

EA Sports is Bringing Back College Football

But will it have the mascot mode?

It has been about 8 years since the last time EA Sports released a college football game, but it looks like college sports is back on the menu. Today, EA and CLC announced the return of college football to EA Sports. This partnership allows for EA Sports to be the exclusive developer of simulation college football experiences. Development is just starting, so you may not see a new release for at least another year or two now.
