Stray Bombay Company, the new development studio started by Valve alum Chet Faliszek and Riot Games alum Kimberly Voll, finally revealed their first project after forming about two years ago. Their first title seems like familiar territory for the Faliszek, who worked on such franchises as Half-Life, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and yes, Left 4 Dead.
His new title, The Anacrusis, looks to take a ton of inspiration from the Left 4 Dead games but instead of fighting zombies on Earth, you will be going up against aliens in space. It also features Stray Bombay's idea of The Director from the Left 4 Dead games. Unlike Left 4 Dead, The Anacrusis will be an episodic adventure, with each release telling a new part of the story.
The Anacrusis is a four-player co-op FPS set aboard a massive spaceship. Players will square off against tons of aliens, including "special" ones, unlock perks, and utilize a variety of weapons while the game's director keeps things fresh between each playthrough.
The Anacrusis will be release on PC via Steam later this year.

Matter compilers spread throughout the game give you access to dozens of perks that will change the way you play. Stack all of your upgrades to power up the last-resort pistol or boost your defense by supercharging your shield pulse. Unlock new perks as you play, and share your unlocks with everyone on your team!
