The former Valve subsidiary turned independent studio is now owned by Tencent.

Tencent has announced that they have acquired Turtle Rock Studios, the development studio responsible for Back 4 Blood and Left 4 Dead. The press release sent out today says that Tencent acquired Turtle Rock Studios' parent company, Slamfire, Inc.

Though Turtle Rock Studios is now owned by Tencent, the studio will reportedly retain its independent operations in their California based location....

The four-player co-op shooter in space now has an early release date.

The small team at Stray Bombay just announced an Early Access release date for their sci-fi four-player co-op FPS, The Anacrusis. That date is none other than January 13, 2022. The game will be released on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S as an Early Access and Game Preview title at that time.

Stray Bombay Company, the new development studio started by Valve alum Chet Faliszek and Riot Games alum Kimberly Voll, finally revealed their first project after forming about two years ago. Their first title seems like familiar territory for the Faliszek, who worked on such franchises as Half-Life, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and yes, Left 4 Dead.

Turtle Rock Studios is hoping to strike gold twice with fans of the co-op shooter genre. In March 2019 we learned that Turtle Rock Studios was working on a new zombie-filled co-op shooter in the same vein as Left 4 Dead. A second season of content outlined in new roadmap.

Saber Interactive just released a new roadmap of free content coming soon to World War Z. This roadmap offers a look at what players can expect in the months ahead for the still fairly popular zombie filled co-op shooter.

If you have a hunger for brains some co-op zombie shooting, you may be happy to hear that World War Z is out today. This four-player co-op title will probably invoke some feelings of deja vu as you take on a ton of undead swarms as you make your way through each level. Chet Faliszek, formerly of Valve, and Dr. Kimberly Voll, formerly of Riot Games, have teamed up to create a new development studio.

The studio, called Stray Bombay, aims to create games that focus on social experiences between players. In his time at Valve, Faliszek is credited for having worked on the writing for the Portal franchise along with bringing Left 4 Dead to the world. Certain Affinity, the development studio based out of Austin, Texas, announced today that they are going to open a second development studio in Toronto, Ontario. That's in Canada.
