Preview: The Anacrusis Early Access Release

What to expect from this Early Access release of the latest four-player cooperative shooter.

Stray Bombay has been hard at work developing what could be the next true successor to Left 4 Dead with their upcoming cooperative PvE title, The Anacrusis. While I'm sure they want to avoid those sorts of direct comparisons, it is a little difficult to avoid them given how much of the same DNA is shared between the two franchises. Hell, one of Stray Bombay's founders, Chet Faliszek, used to...

The Anacrusis Announced from Stray Bombay Company

Left 4 Dead in space? Left 4 Dead in space with aliens.

Stray Bombay Company, the new development studio started by Valve alum Chet Faliszek and Riot Games alum Kimberly Voll, finally revealed their first project after forming about two years ago. Their first title seems like familiar territory for the Faliszek, who worked on such franchises as Half-Life, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and yes, Left 4 Dead.

His new title, The Anacrusis, looks to take a ton of inspiration...

Back 4 Blood Gameplay Reveal from Turtle Rock Studios

Will lightning strike twice for Turtle Rock?

Turtle Rock Studios is hoping to strike gold twice with fans of the co-op shooter genre. In March 2019 we learned that Turtle Rock Studios was working on a new zombie-filled co-op shooter in the same vein as Left 4 Dead. We knew then that the game was called Back 4 Blood but we saw nothing of it since it was so very early in development.

Now, this past week gave us two new trailers for Back 4 Blood. One is a cinematic trailer...

Great game at a great price.

World War Z is a co-op shooter developed by Saber Interactive and published by Focus Home Interactive. It is inspired by the movie of the same name, which itself is...

More Free Content is Coming Soon to World War Z

A second season of content outlined in new roadmap.

Saber Interactive just released a new roadmap of free content coming soon to World War Z. This roadmap offers a look at what players can expect in the months ahead for the still fairly popular zombie filled co-op shooter.

Some of the new content includes two new story missions set in Moscow and New York, an entirely new zombie type, crossplay support, a horde mode, and more. Today's news about a new season of content comes...

World War Z the Game Based on the Movie Based on the Book is Out Today

If you have a hunger for brains some co-op zombie shooting, you may be happy to hear that World War Z is out today. This four-player co-op title will probably invoke some feelings of deja vu as you take on a ton of undead swarms as you make your way through each level. What I'm trying to say is that fans of Left 4 Dead will probably want to check this one out.

The game is, of course, inspired by the movie of the same name, which is inspired by the book of the same name. World War Z...

Turtle Rock is Making a New Zombie Filled Co-op FPS Game

Turtle Rock Studios, the development studio that created Left 4 Dead and who eventually brought us Left 4 Dead 2 and Evolve (but let's not talk about that one) is working on a new co-op FPS. And just like Left 4 Dead, this new title will also include plenty of zombies.

The game is called Back 4 Blood (I see what they did there) and it will be published by WBIE. It's a bit early to say how this one will turn out since a lot of the old Turtle Rock kind of merged with Valve for...

Review: Last Year: The Nightmare (PC)

A solid asymmetrical survival-horror game that's light on content.

Asymmetrical multiplayer games have been going steady for the past few years now. Some of the biggest games in that particular genre include the long departed Evolve, the still ongoing Dead by Daylight, and even Friday the 13th if you're into that sort of thing. You can now add in Last Year: The Nightmare to the mix as it combines 5 versus 1 multiplayer with elements of survival-horror. As with those other titles,...

    Review: Strange Brigade (PC)

It's the 1930s and you are one of four (five if you pre-ordered) unique individuals that make up the very fine, yet very bizarre, group known as the Strange Brigade. It's up to you to save the world from dastardly devils, unruly undead, and a bevy of bigger than life bosses. Just how do you accomplish this, you may ask? It's simple! You shoot, you loot, explore, and then you shoot and loot some more. Such is the nature of Strange Brigade fro...

Jim French, the voice actor behind Bill in the Left 4 Dead games, passed away on December 21 at the age of 89.

French brought a force and a life to Bill that immediately made him my go-to choice any time my friends and I played a game of Left 4 Dead. He continued to breathe life into Bill for a special mission in Payday.

French also provided the voice for Father Grigori in Half-Life 2. He was the lone Fisherman in Half-Life 2: Lost Coast. Dota 2 players will know him...
