Plus four-player splitscreen.
Borderlands 3 is the latest title to join the ever growing list of titles that are going to offer a free next-gen upgrade to existing players. The upgrade to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will include 4K resolutions at up to 60 frames-per-second. This is a much higher resolution and framerate than any current version of the game, including the PC in many cases.
Sadly, this same promise of 4K and 60fps can't be made for the slightly less powerful Xbox Series S.
Not only is that free upgrade to next-gen coming, it's bringing with it support for four-player splitscreen. This next-gen only feature will allow three to four players to play together on the same television.
For those still sticking to the current-gen consoles, there is some good news for you today. Gearbox says that you will soon be able to use the two-player splitscreen mode vertically instead of horizontally. The option will be available to you "soon."
