It's a slow news day, so here's a rumor born from a single site.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

A new rumor was fired up yesterday from cinelinx.com that says a remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is currently in the works. There might be a bit of validity behind this rumor, we aren't exactly sure ourselves. The track record of cinelinx is unknown to us, but it's a slow news day so let's roll with it.

The site claims that two independent sources have told them that Knights of the Old Republic is making a comeback in some form. One source has said that a remake is currently being worked on. Another source has said that it's less of a remake and more of a "'sequel' of sorts."

This second source went on to say that this sequel idea would "integrate elements from the first two game sin order to bring certain things into the current Star Wars canon." It would be less of a remake and supposedly more of a re-imagining.

The site where this all originates from says that they have heard about "a BUNCH of Star Wars projects in various stages of work" at EA. Some of these projects apparently include sequels to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order to something for the Switch. Just like the main rumor here, none of this is confirmed. Even if these projects are in some stage of development, there's no guarantee that they'll ever be finished either.

All of this comes after a 2015 report from cinelinx that a Knights of the Old Republic was "in some form of development." They walked that one back in 2016 after being told by different anonymous sources that the game was put on the back burner.

As with all rumors, take with as little or as much salt as you want. It's also very possible that anything related to a Knights of the Old Republic remake or sequel may not be worked on by BioWare. They already probably have their plates full with various projects such as Dragon Age 4 aka: Dragon Age: The Dread Wolf Rises, a potential Anthem reboot, their Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO that is still going strong, and who knows what else.
