In honor of The Game Awards, about a dozen games released limited time demos on Steam.
The Game Festival demos

Later tonight, The Game Awards will be streamed live. That all kicks off at 8:30PM (ET) and can be watched online at places like Twitch, Steam, Mixer, Twitter, YouTube, consoles, other websites, and even at select movie theaters.

We already knew that.

What we didn't know until just a short time ago is that Geoff Keighley has also organized a special bonus treat for everyone. Today, he announced The Game Festival. The Game Festival, going live right now, offers you a chance to play all-new demos for over a dozen upcoming games. The catch here is that these special demos will only be available for a limited time of just 48 hours.

All of these demos are for the PC and are available through Steam. We have demos for games like the System Shock reboot, Skatebird, and Moving Out just to name a few.

Again, these are limited time demos available for only 48 hours. If you miss out on trying these demos, you won't have another chance to play the games until they're released. Keighley also announced that The Game Awards will be streamed in 4K through Steam. Plus, there is a special sale going on through Steam for The Game Awards. Not only that, but you have a chance to win a Valve Index VR kit and other free game drops just by watching through Steam.

Some of the games that will release free, limited-time demos include:
  • System Shock (Nightdive Studios)
  • Eastward (Pixpil/Chucklefish)
  • Spiritfarer (Thunder Lotus)
  • Moving Out (SMG Studio/Devm Games/Team17)
