No Overwatch 2 or Diablo IV in 2021

Keep those hype trains at the station.

Activision Blizzard tweeted out some of the highlights from their earnings conference call that took just took place. You can begin to read about those right here on Twitter if you are so inclined. However, the big news from today wasn't how well (very) Activision Blizzard is performing.

No, the big news today is that Activision Blizzard confirmed that neither Overwatch 2 nor Diablo IV will be out this year. This little tidbit was...

Microsoft Will Punish Retailers that Break the Xbox Series X Pre-Order Time

    This according to Geoff Keighley.

Pre-orders for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S are slated to go live starting September 22 at 8AM (PT). This will give consumers plenty of time to get an order in ahead of the official launch date of November 10 for both consoles. This pre-order date has been known about for quite some time now.

However, following the sloppy pre-order phase of the PlayStation 5, Microsoft is taking steps to ensure retailers stick to the specified time...

Early Access pushed out of August.

The Early Access release of Baldur's Gate 3 has been pushed out of its originally planned release in August. A tweet by Larian Studios suggests that while the Early Access release won't come in August, it is "just around the corner." Perhaps September then?

Well, we won't know until August 18 just when the Early Access release will happen. It is on that date where Larian and the Geoff Keighley will have a release date reveal....

Xbox Games Showcase Scheduled for July 23

A new part of the Summer Game Fest.

Xbox announced today that they will host another entry in Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest. I do not know how many other entries there have been thus in the Summer Game Fest because honestly, who actually cares. If you do care, then perhaps you will be interested in the Xbox Games Showcase pre-show that begins at 8AM.

The show itself, the Xbox Games Showcase, begins at 9AM (PT) on July 23. You will be able to watch on xbox.com, Twitter,...

Gamescom 2020 Digital Event Set for August 27

Digital event scheduled from August 27 - August 30.

The digital presence for gamescom 2020 will be huge. It kind of has to be because the actual, in-person show isn't happening in 2020. Instead, a digital event for gamescom 2020 is slated to run from August 27 - August 30.

gamescom: Opening Night Live will still be taking place. Once again, Geoff Keighley will be the host for the event that typically kicks off gamescom proper. This will obviously be the first event displayed...

You all ready for four months of Geoff Keighley?

The Summer of Keighley is nearly upon us. I assume that is the alternate name that was being shopped around before they actually decided on the "Summer Game Fest." This whole thing is being labeled an "all-digital consumer celebration." The Summer Game Fest will bring fans "a season of breaking news, in-game events, and free playable content" from a variety of developers, publishers, and platform owners....

  • Geoff Keighley to Skip E3 for First Time as Troubles Mount for Dying Trade Show

This comes the same day the exhibitor list was leaked.

Geoff Keighley, creator of The Game Awards, revealed today that he will not be attending E3 2020. His decision to not attend this year's event will mark the first time in 25 years that the industry veteran will not be in attendance. It also means that he will not host the annual E3 Coliseum show. This was a regular event where Keighley would host a series of game developers in a rather informal Q&A, allowing them to talk freely...

The Game Awards Partners with the New Jumanji Film

When I think "video games" I also think of Hollywood film sequels that are remakes of an old film based on a board game.

On December 12, you will be able to watch the The Game Awards for 2019. If you happen to be in or near a town with a Cinemark theater, you may also get to watch the new Jumanji movie right after The Game Awards are over.

It's one hell of an odd pairing but it is a pairing that has been made nonetheless. This is thanks to a partnership between...
