After multiple weeks and a few months of teases, including a long running ARG surrounding a dating app called Tinder, we now have an official announcement of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. Paradox Interactive made the big reveal just moments ago via a GDC party. The party was "supposed" to be for a new Tinder reveal but thanks to some unintentionally cheesy live-action role playing, it turned out to be a big reveal for Bloodlines 2.
This is a direct sequel to the previous title that came out back in 2004 on the very same day that Half-Life 2 was released. This sequel takes place in Seattle and is being developed by Hardsuit Labs.
It, like its predecessor, is a first-person RPG and takes place years after the events of the first Bloodlines title. An announcement trailer came near the end of tonight's long reveal, which you can find at the bottom.
Players will assume the role of a vampire dealing with the various vampire clans within the game world. These factions have been battling for control over the city for a while now, which means there will be a lot of politics involved, a lot of combat, a lot of stealth, a lot of story, and a lot of blood sucking.
Brian Mitsoda is back again as the lead narrative designer on Bloodlines 2. He was a designer and writer for the original Bloodlines.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 will be released Q1 2020. Pre-orders are already available right now on Steam, Epic Games Store (both? Yes, both), GOG, and Paradox's store. Those are all links to the base PC version. The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions can be found by hitting up the Bloodlines 2 pre-order page once those are made available for pre-order.
