Fallout 76 lockpick "mod"
On Reddit, a thread popped up that talks up a storm over concerns for security and exploits for Fallout 76.

In the Reddit post, the author provides a number of examples of exploits as they current exist in the still ongoing Fallout 76 beta. These exploits include, but are not limited to, the ability to utilize various Fallout 4 mods, the ability to trick the game into letting you walk through walls, stay at 100% health, or even force other clients to disconnect from the session.

The author says that Fallout 76 does not contain any server checks for models or file integrity. They say that some of these exploits are as simple as editing a single file in a text editor. Other exploits necessitate the use of Wireshark to see the IPs of everyone you are connected to in a server, which makes that whole "disconnect" thing easy to do.

The author released a "proof of concept" mod to the Fallout Nexus yesterday. The mod, pictured at top, was also used in Fallout 4 to more easily see the sweet spot for picking locks. Though it was live for a while, it has since been pulled and is under moderator review.

Bethesda issued a response to these claims today in a statement to Eurogamer. The company says that some of the claims made on Reddit are "inaccurate." However, they also say that they have already been working on "several issues" that they will be rolling out fixes for. Bethesda's statement did not specify which of the claims made in the Reddit post were inaccurate.
"Many of the claims in the thread are either inaccurate or based on incorrect assumptions. The community has however called to attention several issues that our teams are already actively tracking and planning to roll out fixes for.

"Our goal is always to deliver a great experience for all our players. Cheating or hacking will not be tolerated. We know our fan base is passionate about modding and customising their experience in our worlds and it's something we intend to support down the road."

This is just the latest issue with the upcoming multiplayer focused game. It was also recently discovered that Fallout 76's walk speed is tied to your framerate. This was discovered after the BethesdaNet client deleted many users' pre-loads of the beta.
