It must be hard to make a car sound interesting, it has a camera, and uses fuel well!
My 12 year old Polo also uses fuel, sadly lacks a camera... i should probably get a Ford Focus SE.

What really bothers me is how many people were cheering for this ad and how many were complimenting Ford in making this commercial. Tweets to Paul Eiding and David Hayter were nearly unanimously positive (only one tweet mentioned anything about how sad this is), and YouTube comments were half "kill MGS already" and half "better than MGSV", "welcome back David and Paul!" and "nice one Ford!" I think everybody misses David's voice to the point that we'll accept anything.

With that said, everybody is entitled to their opinion and I have absolutely no desire to ask anybody to change their opinion if they liked the commercial. I'm not going to be that kind of an evil ignorant prick. I don't want people agreeing with my opinion if deep down, they are happy with the commercial.

I think it's more that this is super left field, if you're going to utilize a known franchise to sell a car the original Metal Gear Solid from 18 years ago doesn't spring to mind, someone involved thought this would be a cool thing to do, got in contact with the actors, somehow managed to get that codec quality spot on... it was clearly made by someone who has reverence for the game.

I will concede that Ford's commercial is much better executed than Metal Gear Solid 4's insane amounts of subliminal advertising. Playboy, energy drinks, iPod, etc. It was cringing to me. Then there's the actual energy drink commercial of course.
