The team at Red Barrels released the first image for Outlast 2 today. The game is due to be released this Fall.
Red Barrels' President, Philippe Morin, said that the team is "in full control of what we ship and when we ship it." Due to sales surpassing 3.5 million units, they are in a position to take their time with this sequel. He says that they were in a rush to finish the first game before running out of money.
There are already many things in this image which are different from the first game, they're outdoors, there seems to be a female character, there seems to be an innocent bystander and there's a hat.
I wonder if the Walrider returns.

Developer Red Barrels just announced they are teaming up with Lionsgate to create a feature film based on the Outlast franchise. Red Barrels writer, JT Petty, is already working on the screenplay for the film.
So far, horror film producer Roy Lee is the only other named person attached to this film. Lee is best known as being a producer on films such as 2017's It, Late Night with the Devil, and Barbarian.
