Remember Black Mesa? It was the fan made total remake of the original Half-Life on the Source Engine. It was originally announced in late 2004 and was finally released to the public in late 2012. Unfortunately, it wasn't the "complete" version of the game. It lacked all of Xen and all of the promised multiplayer for the game. It was then one of the first games approved through Steam Greenlight to be released through Steam.


Today, here in 2015, 11 years after it was first announced, the Black Mesa website has been updated with a ... a countdown. The countdown is for May 5, 2015 at 8:47:00 (GMT-6). A countdown to what? Well, hopefully it's not a countdown to yet another announcement or yet another trailer. Hopefully, it's a countdown to an actual release on Steam. The latest word on the game was that it was moving to an updated version of the Source Engine. They also released some screenshots from some WIP multiplayer maps back in late 2014.
