Some sharp eyed viewers of The Game Awards may have noticed the shirt that Hideo Kojima was wearing on stage when they revealed Metal Gear Online. A post on the MGSForums (via NeoGAF) put forth a very interesting theory on when we'll learn about the release date for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
- VGAs 2012: The Phantom Pain trailer was revealed by 'Moby Dick Studios', a Swedish company
- Kojima had the the Swedish words for the 22nd and the 6th on his shirt at the TGAs
- The 22nd chapter of Herman Melvilles 6th book 'Moby Dick' is called Merry Christmas

The old theory suggested that the release date for Metal Gear Solid V would be June 22nd, or the 22nd day of the sixth month (June). However, given Kojima's love of trolling his fans, the above theory was crafted.

Lending some credence to the above theory is the fact that there is now a Kojima Station scheduled for Christmas Day. Thus instead of the game having a release date of June 22, it is entirely possible the release date will be earlier than expected (or later) and that the actual release date will be announced on Christmas day through the scheduled Kojima Station.

If this all seems far fetched, then you haven't really been paying attention to how much Kojima likes to mess with everyone's mind. I need only to remind you about P.T., the initial reveal for The Phantom Pain, the initial teasers for Peace Walker and Rising, the trailers for Metal Gear Solid 2, and more.
