  • Watch Dogs Surpasses 8 Million Units Sold

As part of their first-quarter financial report, Ubisoft revealed today that Watch Dogs has sold over 8 million copies.
“The success of Watch Dogs and the quality of our games portfolio presented at this year’s E3 highlight our strategic positioning as well as our continuous drive for innovation and affirm our long-term approach,” Ubisoft chief executive Yves Guillemot said in a statement to investors. “Watch Dogs is now well positioned as a major franchise, and we will be able to replicate and build on its success in the coming years.”

Those 8 million units sold help to push Ubisoft to sales of $490 million in the quarter. That's an increase of 374% from the same period of time last year.

      It's very effective.

Earlier in the year, we learned that Tencent was teaming up with Ubisoft to create a new subsidiary studio. This new studio, this new Ubisoft, would focus on popular Ubisoft IPs such as Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six. The new subsidiary was valued at about €4 billion, which includes the roughly 25% investment (€1.16 billion) from Tencent.

Though work is still ongoing to get the studio opened by the end of the year, we...

Watch Dogs 3 'Legion' Leak - London Setting, Play as Anybody ala 'MindJack'
      by Shawn Zipay
Let's get these E3 2019 rumors starting off strong.

In 2011 a game was released wherein the main character could "hack" into
the minds of any other character and take control of them. The game was called MindJack (pictured above) and, in addition to the unique mind hacking, the game also featured a single-player story that could "transition seamlessly" into co-op. It wasn't all that well received.

Fast-forward to the present and a hot pre-E3...
