It's official now, Minecraft on home consoles has now outsold the PC version of the game. Karl Patrick Geuder, an employee at Mojang that handles data analysis for the studio, gave the good news through Twitter earlier today.

Oddly enough, the purchase counter on the Minecraft website pegs the total number of copies sold at 15,795,844 and counting. Geuder's Tweet says they've sold over 54 million copies across all platforms, which should indicate that the console versions outsold the PC version a long time ago. As such, I'm not really sure what the facts are but there is one thing that is certain: That is a LOT of copies sold.
