One man has brought back Adrian Shephard after his previous outing in Half-Life: Opposing Force. That man is none other than Richard Seabrook, who took it upon himself to continue the story of Shephard that may have otherwise gone untold. Fortunately for us, Prospekt not only brings Shephard back, but it also includes a full 15-level campaign that has been given Valve's blessing.

For $9.99 (USD), you get a stand-alone experience that is roughly the length of Half-Life 2: Episode One. You do not need to have Half-Life 2 or any other Source title installed for this.
“After two years, countless hours of development and tremendous support from the Half-Life and PC gaming community I’m enormously happy to release Prospekt today”, said Richard Seabrook, Director of Seacorp Technologies and sole developer of Prospekt. “As with so many it’s been my dream to create video games for a living. Not only do I hope people love playing Prospekt, but that some take inspiration and decide to bring their own video game ideas to life. Enjoy!”

What is Prospekt?
● Substantial, highly-polished and totally new addition to the Half-Life 2 universe, comparable to Half-Life 2: Episode One in length
● Developed by one person, 25 year old Richard Seabrook
● Official Valve approval for Half-Life 2 licence and assets
● Standalone PC game built using the Source engine - no requirement for Half-Life 2 to be installed
● Continues the story of Opposing Force, Gearbox Software’s (Borderlands) update that tells the original Half-Life story from the perspective of the Marines. Gordon Freeman is cornered and being overrun by soldiers in the Nova Prospekt prison; the player controls US Marine Adrian Shephard - the unsung hero - as he’s teleported in by Freeman’s Vortigaunt allies to help fight back.
● 15 new levels featuring fully-scripted puzzles and action sequences, all carefully integrated into the Half-Life 2 story

● Substantial graphical updates over the original game, including but not limited to:
○ New Textures
○ New Models
○ Updated high resolution Combine soldier skins with improved normal mapping
○ Updated high resolution textures
○ Updated lighting
○ Higher resolution models
○ Increased cube mapping
○ Over 20 new particle effects
○ Modded HUD
○ Modded VGUI
○ New player model skin
○ Return to Xen

● New voice acting
● New music
● New AI improvements, such as soldiers attempting to undo the player’s actions

You can check out Prospekt on Steam right now. I hope to have a review up for this game at some point this weekend.
