Ubisoft Pulls Licenses for The Crew, Makes the Game Completely Inaccessible to Buyers

From the same company trying to sell you a $130 version of Star Wars Outlaws.

From announcing a $130 edition of Star Wars Outlaws to pulling game licenses from those that bought The Crew, Ubisoft sure is on a roll this week.

The Crew was Ubisoft's open-world racing game that was pulled from sale back in December 2023. As of March 31, 2024, Ubisoft shut down the online servers for The Crew. This effectively made the game unplayable across all platforms, including: PC,...

Tim Sweeney Called Valve 'Assholes' in Email to Gabe Newell, Valve COO Says 'You Mad Bro?'

Tim Sweeney is always mad.

The antitrust lawsuit against Valve from Wolfire Games got a little spicy this week. To quickly get you up to speed: Wolfire claims that Valve uses its position with Steam to control game prices and muscle out competition. Though the initial lawsuit against Valve was dismissed, Wolfire amended their suit in May 2022 and the legal battle was back on.

It may have taken almost two years, but we are now starting to see some of the documents that...

The heads of Xbox stayed true to their word and were indeed a part of a special edition of the Official Xbox Podcast. During today's pre-recorded podcast and subsequent blog post, head of Xbox Phil Spencer stated that four Xbox exclusives are going to be multi-platform releases. Is it Starfield? Indiana Jones? Gears of War? Halo?! No, no, no, and no. Though Spencer did not specify what those four titles ...

This news comes hot on the heels of word that Modern Warfare is doing away with paid map packs and loot boxes.

When Call of Duty: Modern Warfare releases on October 25, a new era of monetization for the franchise will also begin. Activision plans to change how they approach things like the in-game economy and real-money microtransactions.

An official blog post by the publisher highlights some of these planned changes. In short, the current plan is to do away with things like Season Passes and paid DLC map packs....

  • Call of Duty: Mobile Surpasses 35 Million Downloads

Call of Duty: Mobile Surpasses 35 Million Downloads

Not bad for a game released three days ago.

Activision announced today that Call of Duty: Mobile has surpassed 35 million downloads across iOS and Android devices. According to the publisher, this game has been downloaded faster than any other first-person or third-person mobile action game. Of course, this factoid is based off of Activision's own internal estimates.

Still, Call of Duty: Mobile was released on October 1, a mere three days ago. To have already hit 35 million...

This year, Call of Duty fans are getting a reboot of the first Call of Duty: Modern Warfare title. Next year, fans may get a reboot of the Black Ops series. This is if the latest rumors are to be believed.

The 2020 Call of Duty will either be Call of Duty: Black Ops 5 or simply Call of Duty: Black Ops. The game will be set in the Cold War era and will also include the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

  • Call of Duty Devs Won't Admit 'Modern Warfare' is Political

Call of Duty Devs Won't Admit 'Modern Warfare' is Political

Devs continue to be too cowardly to admit all games are political.

In a couple of interviews conducted between Game Informer and developers of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare from Infinity Ward, we once again see that devs are just too afraid to admit that yes, their games are indeed political.

Given that nearly every single game is political in some way, this seems like a rather perplexing stance to take. It's even more so when we're talking about a game that has "war"...

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Includes a 'Tamagunchi' Digital Pet

A digital digital pet as it were.

Infinity Ward managed to implement a real-time wristwatch feature in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. This would allow you to see what time it was by actually glancing at your wrist while in game. That's kind of neat, but also rather useless.

However, it was because of this basic feature that the team discovered they could do some rather out there ideas. For instance, they thought about stat tracking and other features you might find in a...

Plus, new details about crossplay, the season pass, and more.

Infinity Ward revealed today that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will feature a 100-player Ground War mode for its launch in October. I have to imagine that some people at DICE and EA are paying a bit more attention to the franchise knowing that this is a thing that is very real and very much coming soon.

The reveal of the game's multiplayer says that there will be quick, close-quarter 2v2 experiences with the...

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Revealed - Crossplay, New Engine, October Release, No Season Pass

Third time's the charm for Modern Warfare.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has just been officially announced and revealed for the third-ish time in the history of the world. There is a soft reboot of the Modern Warfare story for the Call of Duty franchise and should not be confused with the original release of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in 2007 or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered in 2016.

This Modern Warfare is slated to be released on October 25, 2019 for the...

Call of Duty 2019 is Soft Reboot, Called 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare'

    Déjà vu.

According to some rumors with a bit of meat to them, we now know a couple of interesting details concerning the 2019 Call of Duty release.

First off, this year's game is called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. I'm dead serious. It's going to be a new entry in the Modern Warfare series that originally started with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in 2007. I know the difference between the two titles is literally just a single character, but it is a difference....
