Sony just announced that a new PlayStation State of Play stream will be held on Wednesday, February 12 at 5PM ET. This streamed show will be on YouTube and Twitch and is expected to run for a bit over 40 minutes.
According to Sony's own announcement, you can expect to see "news and updates on great games coming to PS5." It will show off a selection of games from studios around the world. Beyond those vague remarks, there is no indication on what will be shown or what studios will have a presence during the stream.
Today's announcement of a new State of Play confirms the rumor made last week by leaker NateTheHate, who claimed a new State of Play would take place at some point this week. At the time of that rumor, I speculated on some of the possible titles Sony could show during the event. Given that we know just as little now as we did then, I'll include the same guesses below. We're only a day away from seeing if any of these show up or not.
We could end up seeing a fresh look at Insomniac's work on Marvel's Wolverine. It's been a hot minute since we last saw anything official about this game. We may get a new look at Ghost of Yotei, the sequel to Sucker Punch's Ghost of Tsushima. A new trailer for Death Stranding 2 is also a very real possibility, as is fresh looks at Fairgames from Haven Studios, and Bungie's PvP extraction shooter Marathon. It's also possible that another trailer for Naughty Dog's Intergalactic will be shown, but it may still be too soon after its initial reveal for another trailer just yet.
