The first new Silent Hill game in over a decade.
An image from P.T., sorry I mean to say from Silent Hill: The Short Message.

Konami just released their first Silent Hill game since 2012's Silent Hill: Book of Memories. The catch here is that it's a very short game, but at least it's free. It's also only available on PlayStation 5. It's also very reminiscent of a certain teaser called P.T. that came out in 2014 and went absolutely nowhere once Konami fired Hideo Kojima and got out of the video game business for a while.

If Silent Hill: The Short Message sounds familiar to you, that may be because this game was rated in South Korea back in September 2022. It has long been rumored to be coming, though it is unclear why it took nearly two years to go from being rated to getting a release.

Those with a PlayStation 5 can try it out for themselves right now if so inclined. The download is available through the PlayStation Store. I mean, it at least can't be any worse than Silent Hill: Ascension, right?
