Konami has released the 1.4.0 update for just the PC version of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1. This update unfortunately won't be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch until some time in January 2024.
It's perhaps for the best that the PC version got this update sooner rather than later. The PC release of the Master Collection was perhaps a tad bit worse off than the console versions. Unfortunately, this update doesn't improve options for framerate or resolution in the collection of titles, but it does add some improvements elsewhere.
The update introduces options that will now allow you to goggle on or off the smoothing feature for the original Metal Gear Solid. The CRT filter can now also be toggled off if desired. Other games in the collection include some audio setting additions, a new windowed mode, and more. The full changelog is below.
