The "Florida Joker" wants to chat with Rockstar.
A virtual criminal with face tattoos and purple hair.

This week, Rockstar Games released the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6. Included throughout the trailer were plenty of stereotypical "Florida Man" behavior from a wide array of eccentric characters. In fact, a lot of the sequences in the game seem to be lifted straight from actual events and news that happened in Florida.

One of the real-life events referenced in the trailer was the arrest of someone that calls themselves the Florida Joker, aka Lawrence Sullivan. Well, Sullivan is at least one of the people that have been dubbed the "Florida Joker" at least. The mugshot for the real life Florida Joker went viral in 2017 thanks to the green hair and myriad of facial tattoos.

It seems like maybe the Florida Joker isn't too keen on being digitally represented in Grand Theft Auto 6 because he took to TikTok to say "we gotta talk" to Rockstar.

The snippet from the Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer isn't a 1:1 likeness of Sullivan, given the different facial tattoos and purple hair instead of green. Still, it's hard to deny that the GTA version isn't heavily inspired by Sullivan.

With how many other clear references there are to real-life events that have taken place in Florida, I have to imagine that Rockstar's legal already gave them the green light on everything before making the trailer public. After all, the "all persons fictional" disclaimer exists for a reason. That and parody law are also big reasons why Lindsay Lohan had a lawsuit dismissed back in 2013 when she claimed her likeness was used in Grand Theft Auto 5.
