  • EA Quietly Announces UFC 5

    The MMA focused franchise is apparently coming back.

    EA rather quietly announced that they are bringing back their UFC games. The mixed martial arts will return with UFC 5, which was announced in a super basic announcement through Twitter earlier today.

    The tweet says "Coming soon" and notes that there will be a full reveal of the game coming this September.

    The first game based off of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) brand came about in 2014 with EA Sports UFC. This first UFC title from EA hit the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, later arriving on iOS and Android in 2015.

    The most recent title was EA Sports UFC 4, which hit PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in August 2020. Since that release, EA has been rather quiet on anything new for the franchise for the past three years. It's too early to say just yet which platforms UFC 5 might end up on, but I'd say that PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S are rather safe bets.
