Techland just released some new mod tools for those interested in modifying Dying Light 2. These tools will help creators make custom maps and other content. Right now, the Dying Light 2 mod tools are available as free DLC on PC via either Steam or the Epic Games Store. Those of you playing on consoles will have to wait a bit, but Techland does plan on offering mod support to you later.

Techland is bolstering today's mod tool release by kicking off the Shape Your City contest. Creative types can create some custom content for PC in an effort to win a part of a $50,000 (USD) prize pool. All of the submitted maps can be seen at mod.io. As these tools were just released, you'll probably want to keep checking back on that site to see what new content is released.

“Over 700 custom maps were created for the first Dying Light game. Working with Techland to bring the next iteration of custom maps for Dying Light 2 Stay Human to PC and console, we aim to unlock a wider audience for user generated content (UGC) than ever before. UGC is too good for players to miss, making official mod support accessible to all is an ambition we’re excited to share with Techland, and their creator community.”

— Scott Reismanis, CEO and Co-Founder of mod.io.

"We know you liked Developer Tools in Dying Light and we are excited to partner with mod.io to announce Dying Light 2 Stay Human now includes this incredible feature as well. Our players now have even more content and possibilities to create maps and user-generated stories on them. It’s time to step up and show off your skills! So… what are you waiting for?”
