Fallout 4 Capital Wasteland Mod Returns from Limbo

A short time back, it seemed like the Capital Wasteland mod for Fallout 4 would be stuck in a perpetual state of limbo. The mod was aiming to essentially bring over Fallout 3, environments and all, into Fallout 4. This included the environments, quests, and even the dialogue from Fallout 3.

Yeah, there were more than a few legal issues with at least some of that and after some discussions with Bethesda, the mod team opted to put the project on hold. Thankfully, it looks like work on the mod will continue. However, instead of bringing over the voice work from Fallout 3, the...

Skyrim Mod 'Beyond Skyrim: Morrowind - The New North' Debut Trailer Reveal

We all love massive game mods, especially when they hold nothing back. Thankfully, the mod scene for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is still very much alive and kicking as we're about to find out. A Skyrim mod team has been hard at work creating a mod called "Beyond Skyrim: Morrowind - The New North," or "The New North," or even "Beyond Skyrim" for short. In a broader sense, Beyond Skyrim will be a collection of mods that bring most major areas of Tamriel together in one mod package. Today's reveal is for Morrowind.

The first ever look at this mod...

Skyrim is Getting a Paid Survival Mode

Bethesda announced today that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will soon have a shiny new Survival Mode on both the consoles and the PC versions of the game. Bethesda says that PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners will get their hands on this Survival Mode and other Creations early next month. PC owners can opt-in to the Skyrim Survival Mode beta starting right now.

And now comes the fun bit.

This additional Survival Mode will be free to both PC and console players for one week once it launches on each platform. After that one week is up, the wording seems to indicate that Bethesda is going to charge you to add the Survival Mode to your account. How much will it be? Bethesda hasn't officially announced that bit yet. One NeoGAF user did manage to dig up this screenshot, which seems to indicate that it will run users 800 of those Creation Club points.

The price of these credits is roughly 100 points ...

This Mod Removes Creation Club News from Fallout 4

One of the most popular mods for Fallout 4 is one that removes the Creation Club News section from the top right of the game's main menu. It's already been right near the top of the charts for the most popular mod on the Fallout 4 Nexus.

The mod, entitled "No More Creation Club News" simply removes that news section from appearing. That is it. It doesn't alter your game in any other way. If you want to "stick it to the man" or simply remove something you don't want to see for whatever reason, you should probably give the mod a go.

    (h/t PC Gamer)...

OpenIV Returns After Rockstar Updates Mod Policy

A bit over a week ago, the Grand Theft Auto mod tool, OpenIV, was shut down by Take-Two. This move spurred the ire of many gamers and resulted in about 50,000 negative reviews on Steam for Grand Theft Auto V. This brought the recent reviews to "Overwhelmingly Negative" and the overall review down to "Mixed."

Rockstar, the developers behind the Grand Theft Auto franchise, have notoriously been supportive of single-player mods for their games. They have often given a community spotlight to some of those mods in the past. It should be unsurprising then to learn that Rockstar has updated their policy on mods following the blanket banning...

Rockstar Facing Backlash After Shutting Down GTA Modding Tool OpenIV

About 80% of the most recent 24,000+ Steam reviews for Grand Theft Auto V have been negative following the Take-Two Interactive shutdown of the popular GTA modding tool, OpenIV.

This community disgust doesn't just stop with the Steam reviews. Instead, it continues on to an ongoing petition at Change.org, which currently has nearly 25,000 signatures. The petition will be sent to both Take-Two and Rockstar.
The closing of OpenIV leaves 10,000s of people without access to be able to mod their games, and leaves 10,000s of people without the ability to continue their hobbies. All modding used by OpenIV is for singleplayer use only to make

Fallout 4 and Skyrim Mods Coming to PS4 but There's a Catch

It looks like whatever nonsense was preventing Bethesda from bringing mod support to the PlayStation 4 has finally found some sort of a resolution. It's a rather crappy resolution, but it is one none the less.

Bethesda said that mods and 4K support are coming to the PlayStation 4 for both The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4. The problem is that the mods cannot use external assets on the PlayStation 4. That's right, the only mods you can have on the PS4 are those that are created using only the already existing assets from those games. Uh, yay?
Skyrim will have these features when it launches on October 28. The new power of the PlayStation

Payday 2 Moderators Revolt Against Overkill and Terrible Microtransactions

Overkill recently decided that they wanted Payday 2 to be a pay to win game. Their latest updates added stat altering modifications to what should have been purely cosmetic changes to weapon skins. Well, the community was pretty upset about this and rightfully so. Some users have even suggested contacting the FTC over Overkill's business practices.

In fact, the moderators of the Steam Community section for Payday 2 are also quite upset. So much so that they have announced that they refuse to do any work until they can get a public dialogue from Overkill about their concerns over these microtransactions.
Hey guys so well i'm unhappy that it has come to this situation but it has. We're pretty unhappy with the COP update for a number of reasons. I'm going

Vice City Imported to Grand Theft Auto V

There is an ongoing project for Grand Theft Auto V that looks to create a bunch of nifty tools and custom content for online communities to use. These tools and assets will eventually lead to custom multiplayer servers with custom game modes and all kinds of custom goodies. That's the super simplified version of what FiveM is all about. From the looks of things, one of those custom projects is importing old GTA worlds into the Grand Theft Auto V engine. I've already seen bits and pieces of the older games working but none seem to be quite as complete as this Vice City conversion. Sadly, this map is not yet available for downloa...
