CD Projekt Red Hires Mod Makers to Work on Cyberpunk 2077

Official modding is about to take a big leap forward.

CD Projekt Red has just hired the makers of the Wolvenkit mod tools to further expand the resources that are available to the Cyberpunk 2077 modding community. According to one of the new hires, Traderain, they will be "working on various projects related to the Cyberpunk 2077 backend and the game's modding support." They hope that they "can help to bring Cyberpunk 2077 to the next level."

    The modding...

Modders Pull Grand Theft Auto Mod 14-years in the Making Over Takedown Fears

    Say goodbye to GTA United.

Take-Two has been on a rampage lately with takedown notices for multiple Grand Theft Auto mods. The company has issued takedowns on mods that have existed for over a decade for games like Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City, and San Andreas. The company really hasn't said why they've suddenly taken issue with these mods after so long.

Out of a fear of receiving a takedown notice on their own mod, the creators of the 14-year-old San Andreas mod, GTA...

  • CD Projekt Red Shuts Down Cyberpunk Mod that Allowed Players to Have Sex with Keanu Reeves

Gonna have to get your kicks elsewhere.

A mod that was up on Nexus Mods allowed Cyberpunk 2077 players to have awkward sex with Keanu Reeves was shut down by CD Projekt Red. Essentially, this mod was a character swap that placed Johnny Silverhand as one of the game's sex workers. It apparently wasn't all that great of a swap because Johnny never takes off his clothes and the lines are those of the game's Joytoy that he replaces, but alas... people were still probably really into it....

Official Mod Tools Rolled Out for Cyberpunk 2077

    Going the Bethesda route.

Though a few Cyberpunk 2077 mods have already popped up since its December release, these were done prior to there being any sort of official mod support for the game. Today, CD Projekt Red finally rolled out the start of their official mod support, which will hopefully allow modders to fix the game in ways that CD Projekt will not.

These official modding tools are in their infancy and seem rather limited in their scope. They are certainly not...

SnowRunner Mods Now Available on Consoles

Full mod support now a part of the PS4 and XB1 releases.

Full mod support has just been added to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One releases of SnowRunner. This announcement came today from Saber Interactive and Focus Home Interactive. While not every single mod that is available on PC will make its way to consoles, a great number of them will be made available.

Mods can be added via a Mod.io interface. You will need an account in order to find new content through the in-game...

Mod Tools Released for Kingdom Come: Deliverance

You can now mod the game to be historically inaccurate.

Warhorse Studios and Deep Silver have officially released the mod tools for Kingdom Come: Deliverance today. The "Modding Tools" are for the PC version of the game and come alongside the 1.9.3 patch that was released for all platforms. Unfortunately, I am unable to find what the changelog is for that 1.9.3 update.

The Modding Tools have been released in cooperation with Nexus Mods, meaning that access to...

Fallout 4 Capital Wasteland Mod Returns from Limbo

A short time back, it seemed like the Capital Wasteland mod for Fallout 4 would be stuck in a perpetual state of limbo. The mod was aiming to essentially bring over Fallout 3, environments and all, into Fallout 4. This included the environments, quests, and even the dialogue from Fallout 3.

Yeah, there were more than a few legal issues with at least some of that and after some discussions with Bethesda, the mod team opted to put the project on hold. Thankfully, it looks like...

Skyrim Mod 'Beyond Skyrim: Morrowind - The New North' Debut Trailer Reveal

We all love massive game mods, especially when they hold nothing back. Thankfully, the mod scene for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is still very much alive and kicking as we're about to find out. A Skyrim mod team has been hard at work creating a mod called "Beyond Skyrim: Morrowind - The New North," or "The New North," or even "Beyond Skyrim" for short. In a broader sense, Beyond Skyrim will be a collection of mods that bring most major areas of Tamriel together...

Bethesda says that PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners will get their hands on this Survival Mode and other Creations early next month. PC owners can opt-in to the Skyrim Survival Mode beta starting right now. And now comes the fun bit. This additional Survival Mode will be free to both PC and console players ...

This Mod Removes Creation Club News from Fallout 4

One of the most popular mods for Fallout 4 is one that removes the Creation Club News section from the top right of the game's main menu. It's already been right near the top of the charts for the most popular mod on the Fallout 4 Nexus.

The mod, entitled "No More Creation Club News" simply removes that news section from appearing. That is it. It doesn't alter your game in any other way. If you want to "stick it to the man" or simply remove something you don't want to see...

OpenIV Returns After Rockstar Updates Mod Policy

A bit over a week ago, the Grand Theft Auto mod tool, OpenIV, was shut down by Take-Two. This move spurred the ire of many gamers and resulted in about 50,000 negative reviews on Steam for Grand Theft Auto V. This brought the recent reviews to "Overwhelmingly Negative" and the overall review down to "Mixed." Rockstar, the developers behind the Grand Theft Auto franchise, have notoriously been supportive of single-player mods for their games. They have often given a community spotlight t...

Rockstar Facing Backlash After Shutting Down GTA Modding Tool OpenIV

About 80% of the most recent 24,000+ Steam reviews for Grand Theft Auto V have been negative following the Take-Two Interactive shutdown of the popular GTA modding tool, OpenIV.

This community disgust doesn't just stop with the Steam reviews. Instead, it continues on to an ongoing petition at Change.org, which currently has nearly 25,000 signatures. The petition will be sent to both Take-Two and Rockstar.
The closing of OpenIV leaves 10,000s of people without access
