The next-gen update for The Witcher 3 arrives in just over a week. For those on PC, this probably has some worrying about which of their mods will and will not work. Thankfully, CD Projekt Red started doing some of the work for everyone ahead of this update. They have released a breakdown of how the upcoming update will impact some of the most popular mods available for The Witcher 3.

This post on the CDPR forums includes the team's findings. They note that the list may not be 100% accurate due to the update being in active development when they were doing their testing. From a quick glance, it looks like about 37 mods are compatible and working with the next-gen update out of the 71 mods that they tested. So things like the Over 9000 weight limit mod and the All Quest Objectives on Map mods are seemingly working just fine. Other mods, like the Ultra Gore 2 dismemberment mod and Realistic Weather aren't yet compatible with the update.

For the mods that aren't yet working when the update drops on the 14th, CD Projekt Red says that they are releasing a new version of the Witcher 3 command line tools for modders. This update has been adapted for the updated game and includes several bug fixes. Assuming the mod makers of your favorite mod are still active, they may be able to quickly release new versions on their own that are compatible with the update.

The list of tested mods can be found here: the-witcher-3-next-gen-update-mod-compatibility.pdf or direct from CD Projekt Red. Both links are to a PDF file. It should probably go without saying that it doesn't appear as though CD Projekt Red tested out any of the numerous nude mods that are available.
